Brickyard. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train at the Brickyard Crossing in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 29 November 1964. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #7241 and #2251. Both were built by EMD. #7241 is an EFS-17M built in 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. #2251 is an EF-22 built in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. They are travelling down the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve and through Altoona to the Enola Yards with a train of 98 "Ore Jennies." The caboose is #477448. |
