PRR 490965, Crane, 1965
Derailment. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 21 May 1965. Shown here is PRR 490965, an oil-fired, steam-powered crane. It is assisting the railroad workers on the ground to rerail one of the derailed eastbound freight cars, TLDX #2944. Partially visible in the background are two of the original PRR 12th Street Car Shop buildings.
