The Southern local job works the R J Reynolds plant. Back in that era, when a lot more people smoked than now, and tobacco was a primary contributor to the state economy, this was one of the larger industrial facilities, providing many jobs, and a lot of business for the railroad. We see a typical Southern unit working the docks. |
