A set of the normally green and white CTA cars has been painted for the Bicentennial. Now two years after the big celebration, quite a few cars still carried their festive paint schemes, such as this set on Lake St. I found it interesting that CTA was running two car trains. In New York, where I lived, they never ran anything shorter than four cars, which alleviated the problem of a train getting "stranded" going through a gap in third rail access while negotiating switches. |
