UP 2756
Union Pacific train ILXG4X 17 stretches out for over a mile (6671 feet, to be exact) as it passes the Palm Springs Amtrak station (back in the trees on the left) in Palm Springs (the railroad calls it West Palm Springs), California, on November 18, 2017. A trio of clean engines - UP ES44AC 2756 and a pair of AC4400CWs (6607 and 6880) - are powering this Los Angeles Harbor to Elwood IL (Global 4) double stack train as it descends Beaumont Hill on the old Southern Pacific Sunset Route - now called the Yuma Subdivision on the Union Pacific.
