Here is a photo which first appeared in an article by Philip W. Klaus, Jr., entitled "The Newtown Square Branch." It was published in the Winter 1986-1987 issue of "The High Line" magazine, page 24. Caption Paraphrase: Train has left Llanerch and is headed for Newtown Square. Photo by Don Kehl; 1941. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3486, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built in Juniata during August of 1913 and retired in April of 1950 after 37 years of faithful service. Note the two Railroaders riding on the front steps of PRR N-6B cabin car #980723! Roy Healey Collection; #6 of 10.

Peter Hultgren	General	This is an interesting picture with the two train crew members on the platform of the caboose. What is the significance of the "PT 35" above each window on the back of the caboose? I am guessing that the time of year is either early spring or late fall with the lack of leaves on the trees and smoke rising from the caboose stack - perhaps to heat it up inside.	3/9/2018 4:46:32 PM
