Stored BNSF engines
Today marks Day 5 of our Galesburg RR Days Outing. This morning we went to church and started heading back east towards home today. The original goal was to follow the Mendota Sub east out of town to Mendota where we would end the day, but plans changed that as trains began to converge on Galesburg throughout the day. We began the morning by going to church and then starting the day just west of town on the Transcon where there are several older BNSF engines (many of which are in BN or ATSF paint) are being stored, awaiting to be put back into service, or awaiting a scrap yard. It would have been awesome to have gotten closer to these engines, but this was the closest I was able to get.
