SPM. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by a Mr. Weber that was taken in Englewood, Illinois, on 9 August 1939. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5712, a G-5S (4-6-0) "Ten-Wheeler" built in Juniata during September of 1924 and retired in August of 1949 after 25 years of faithful service. It is pulling a 3-car commuter train out of Chicago on a steamy August afternoon. |
