| Illinois Central GP38-2 9628, originally the ICG GRENVILLE M. DODGE, was on the DOCK JOB bringing cars from the railroad’s MAYS YARD to STUYVESANT DOCKS YARD and the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad. The shot was taken at Dakin Avenue, near the line between Orleans and Jefferson parishes. The Norfolk Southern piggyback car behind the locomotive was rebuilt from a boxcar, while the track in the foreground was once the Kansas City Southern’s connection with the NOPB. |
