Louisiana & Arkansas 505 was the last of four Ten-Wheelers (502-505) built by Baldwin in April 1920, and when this photo was taken next to the new engine house at WEST YARD in April 1951 - just outside of New Orleans - it was the only one still on the roster. It was scrapped by the railroad at Pittsburg, Kansas in December 1953. In the background to the left of the tender was a KCS passenger car, because this is where KCS passenger trains were serviced between 1950 and the opening on New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal in 1954.
