PRR 5379, K-4S, 1956
Coal Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Raymond J. Muller that was taken in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 3 October 1956. Shown here is a tender-end view of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5379, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during June of 1924 and retired in April of 1958 after 34 years of faithful service. Note the hostler on the tender's deck, replenishing the water tank. "Fill 'er up, Mack!"
