| Interesting example of an Alco-Brooks built 2-8-2 Mikado. Originally built for the Spokane Falls & Northern, it was acquired by GN in the merger of the SF&N in 1921 (serial #55444, reclassified as GN O-2). The loco was eventually retired April of 1947 and scrapped March of 1949. No date or location given for the photo taken by S.R. Wood. The "Midwest Oil Co" sign in the background suggests Sioux Falls, SD. |
