| B&P derailment in East Aurora. Train hit an open switch to a siding at speed and hit the dirt derailing 15 of 98 cars on the train including propane tankers. 40 homes were evacuated as a precautionary measure. Thankfully the crew that went for that wild ride were not injured. The mess took several days to clean up. The department of homeland security was on the scene investigating. At the time this happened I could only speculate how this accident happened and have heard nothing since. If anyone else has some info, feel free to leave a comment. |
