Southern New York Ry. began as an electric interurban in Oneonta, NY. At its furthest extent, it reached Mohawk, NY, with a branch to Cooperstown. It dieselized in 1940, running 1.63 miles to West Oneonta. It ceased operations in 1970. My notes reflect that No. 5 was a 40-tonner built by GE in 1922. Confirmation would be appreciated. |
