| BNSF SD40-2 snoot 1906 was pushing four recently-rebuilt GE units from the BNSF-Wabtec interchange at Justin, Texas to the railroad’s nearby ALLIANCE YARD just north of Fort Worth. The locomotive had been built in November 1980 as ATSF 5134, was renumbered BNSF 6863 on 20 August 1989 and then renumbered again to BNSF 1906 on 4 June 2009. The extended nose originally housed a transmitter to operate a radio-controlled helper unit. |
