Arkansas Midland (AKMD)
For years, I have been trying to nab the AKMD in original paint. The G&W orange everything scheme doesn't cut it for me. Finally on this trip, I ran across the AKMD McGehee yard switcher actually out from behind cars. Mission finally accomplished.

This is the only GP8 still in service on this part of the AKMD as the 908 & 703 are broken down and the 703 was sold to Motive Care and Supplies and is currently sitting next to the McGehee cemetery on the North Louisiana & Arkansas Railroad so mechanics can look it over before being shipped out to Hot Springs.

All of the Paducah Shops rebuilt GP8s and GP10s that remained on the Arkansas Midland Railroad roster were scrapped in January 2024.
