PRR 1378, L-1S, c. 1940
Here is the first of three successive photos. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1378, a L-1S (2-8-2) "Mikado" built in Juniata during May of 1915 and retired in August of 1948 after 33 years of faithful service. In this context, it's coupled with a mixed-cargo freight train that's waiting for an on-coming passenger train to clear. The names of the photographer and the two crew members, as well as the exact date and the location, are not recorded. ("Bluehearse"; #1 of 3)
