PRR 4120, E-3SD, 1916
Classics. Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Baltimore, Maryland, on 29 August 1916. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4120, an E-3SD (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built in Juniata as an E-3D during 1907, rebuilt as an E-3SD in July of 1913, and retired in February of 1931 after 24 years of faithful service. The road number of the locomotive partially visible at the left is not recorded; note the oil-burning marker lamp. (Gift from Brad Mann.)
