PRR 8616, AS-24M, 1964
Mann. Here is a color photo (converted to B&W) by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Cresson, Pennsylvania, on 27 August 1964. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8616 and two "EF" Class units whose road numbers are not recorded. #8616 is an AS-24M built by the American Locomotive Company in August of 1956 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. In this context, they're serving as eastbound pushers up to the tunnels in Gallitzin. (Gift from Brad Mann.)
