NS 9975
Today my friend TJ and I had planned on going to Elkhart for the day. However, plans ended up changing and he wouldnt be able to come up north. Instead of letting the day be a flop I decided that I would go down to his neck of the woods so we could still enjoy this beautiful day watching trains. So, we decided to take a big risk; watching the CNUR in action. I was told earlier in the day there were plans to work Neal Scrap Metal in New Castle, then interchange some storage cars out with CSX later in the day. The CNUR has been a huge bucket list item of mine, the only problem is the operations of the railroad are almost completely unknown since the railroad only serves a single customer and most of the railway is used to simply store cars. However, it was a risk we were willing to take. When I got down to Muncie I picked up TJ and things on the NS were looking a bit busy, so we decided to hit up Noel real quick just south of Muncie, and a few moments later NS L82 passed with a Dash 9 hammerhead forward with cars for New Castle and Richmond.
