NYC 4-8-2 #2702 - New York Central         
Known as "Mohawk" by New York Central, the 4-8-2 Mountain type locomotive was an essential and powerful freight and passenger car mover. Built by ALCo-Schenectady in February of 1926 (serial #66579), the loco served for 26 years before being retired in September of 1952 and later sold for scrap in November of the same year. Specs - 69" drivers, 225 psi boiler pressure, 27x30" cylinders, engine weight of 362,500 lb, tractive effort of 60,620 with a booster addition of 12,660 lb. The photo is from the Howard W.
