PRR 9831, E-5S, c. 1946         
Here is a photo of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9831, an E-5S (4-2-2) "Atlantic" built in Juniata as Cleveland, Arkon, & Columbus Railroad number "958" during July of 1911, renumbered PRR "9831," rebuilt as an E-5S in July of 1918, and retired in July of 1948 after 37 years of faithful service. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. Gary Mittner Collection.
