ATSF 2-10-2 #1601 - Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe         
ATSF 2-10-2 #1601 started out as an coal burning compound 2-10-2 Santa Fe type steam locomotive built by Baldwin in July of 1905 but seen here now sitting in a dead line. The loco was simplified in July of 1920 at the Albuquerque Shops. Eventually the loco was sold for scrap to the Purdy Company on July 1, 1956. Rebuilt specs - oil burner, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 28x32" cylinders, engine wt of 317,400 lb, tractive effort of 74,800 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo.
