CRIP FA-1m #131 - Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific
A trio of Alcos head up a long string of boxcars in an unidentified stretch of track. Rebuilt by EMD sometime in the mid 1950s, the Alco diesel had two V16-567 prime movers installed. This would have made it a formidable powerhouse. No date, location or photographer was listed for the photo so approximates were used. Thanks to Mike Woodruff (see comment below), the location is Palmer Lake Joint Line in Colorado. Thank Mike for the help!

Mike Woodruff General Location is Palmer Lake CO - apparently a detour over the ATSF/DRGW "Joint Line" (compare to this photo - http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=5513189). Third unit looks like an EMD F. 2/10/2024 11:45:34 AM
