Album Info:Photos from a trip to Eureka, CA in July 2004. Images taken at Eureka Yard are from an overcast morning. Too bad, because the day before was gorgeous when we arrived very late in the afternoon. This line has been cut off from the outside world since 1998. Severe rains caused flooding and washouts severing the line south of Scotia Bluffs. Several locomotives and freight cars were marooned at the ex-Northwestern Pacific yard in Eureka. They remain there today. Plans are to reopen parts of the NWP's southern end trackage by early 2011. Not sure yet what'll happen with the equipment currently in Eureka.
