Title:  CREX 9056
Description:  Leased power at the Connellsville CSX yard. Owned by Citicorp Railmark Inc. A GE C40-8 Built as CNW 8534 in August 1990. Later became UP 9056. Retired by Union Pacific in March 2009. CREX currently only has 17 of these. Check out the differing number boards on this. Note: No tracks were crossed over in the taking of this photo.

Description:  One of five CREX locomotives being towed on CSX train X787-03 from Cumberland to New Castle. In 2011and 2012 these were being leased to CSX, helping them solve their locomotive shortage. Now with CSX's recent new locomotive orders being filled, these veteran GE's are now expendable. I'll miss seeing them around, but at least they are not being scrapped. CREX 9056 was built as CNW 8534 in August 1990 and was renumbered UP 9056 after the merger.
