It had four engines and two boxcars, supposedly to use as buffers for tank cars. This engine is former MJRX 6989, BNSF 6989, BNSF 7329, and built as CN 5041 SD40 in April 1968. |

One might wonder why three engines are needed on a short train. It is because W&LE does pickups and setouts at various locations on a shift and sometimes more power is needed. WE 6387 is former LTEX 6779, BNSF 6779, and built as BN 6779 in May 1977. |

After a day of on and off heavy rains, finally things clear up just in time to catch this 4-car Wheeling and Lake Erie train heading west approaching Bellview Road crossing. The two empty boxcars came from Closet Maid and the two empty tankcars came from Connellsville. #6352 brings up the rear. Next the train would head up the line to Owensdale/Everson to pick up one car from SWP Railroad. WE 6386 was built as KCS 668 in August 1976. Later became LTEX 668. Acquired by W&LE in 2013. |

Though it has been owned by W&LE almost a year now, I am calling it new to differentiate between the previous 6350 engine. |

W&LE 6991 SD40-2 was purchased by Wheeling and Lake Erie in December 2015 and was only put into service in February 2016. It is former CITX 3068/GCFX 3068/GTW 5929 built in December 1970. |
