Album Info:Here is a two-page article entitled "Baldwin Centipede Production Model, Pennsylvania RR Class BP-1 3000 HP." Elevations by Mr. Craig Bossler. It was published originally in the February 1967 issue of "Railroad Model Craftsman" magazine, pages 34-35. "The drawings are based on numerous notes and photos of the prototypes as it appeared, stored at Altoona in May 1963, prior to scrapping at Hollidaysburg in August 1964. The prototype on which this drawing is based was No. 5814." (Page 35)

It was published originally in the February 1967 issue of "Railroad Model Craftsman" magazine, page 34. Middle Photo Caption: "May 1964 photo by Tom Smith at Hollidaysburg, Pa., shows half the PRR Centipede fleet. Not one sample of these huge locomotives were saved." #5814 is a BH-50 built by Baldwin as a passenger service 3,000 horsepower BP-60 in September of 1947, later regeared to a helper service 2,500 horsepower BH-50, and retired in April of 1962.

Photo Caption: "Pennsylvania Railroad 5822-5829 Baldwin Centipede diesels road class BH-50, originally BP-1, swing light around the famous Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pa., in the early 1950's in pusher service." #5822 was built in February of 1948, while #5829 was built in December of 1948; both were retired in April of 1962 after just 14 years of revenue service.
