Description:  Two sparkling new SD40-2s take TV98 south towards Croxton at about Milepost 21 and with about 970 miles behind it. TV98 was the daily Less-Than-Truckload (LTL), mail, and UPS overflow train from Chicago 51st Street to New York. The SD40-2s were part of CR's first order for them and were only a couple months old at the time.

Description:  A UNL train to the NYSEG Milliken plant at Ludlowville, just up Cayuga Lake from Ithaca, picks up its conductor, who had taxied up after closing up at Sayre. The train is crossing NY 17C at Waverly on its way north. The power will return with empties tomorrow.

On the Tier
Title:  On the Tier
Description:  The XWB train has pulled off the Lehigh Line and is now fully on the Tier. The groundman has closed up the switches-its all hand throw-and will get a taxi up to the head end. Meanwhile, the train poses in front of Ted Clarks, a landmark for photos here for many years, and still in business as I write this.
