Michael Palmieri General The KCS discontinued service into Lake Charles after its drawbridge over the Calcasieu River was hit by some runaway barges on 29 December 1983. By this time, almost all of the railroad's business in this area was on the west side of the river. 7/21/2010 2:54:11 PM
