| The Prima EL4U 6000 was developed by Alstom with first run 2004. The goal was to offer an alternative to Siemens EuroSprinter and Bombardier Traxx platform. Compared with other PRIMA units (27000 and 37000 with 4200 kW), it has 6000 kW duration power (hence the name). It is able to run under all four voltage systems generally used in Europe. So far Alstom couldn't sell any type 6000 units. Now the demonstrator rests empty as engine body outside the factory at Belfort. |
